TONSILLITIS

TONSILLITIS: tonsillitis is inflammation of the tonsils.(also known as sore throat).  (tonsil is 2 oval shape at the behind of the throat).

CAUSES: usually cause by coldvirus and bacteria.comman cold viruses (adhinovirus, rhinovirus,influenza, coronavirus, ) The most common bacterial cause is Group A β-hemolytic streptococcus (GABSH) Less common bacterial causes include: staphylococcus aureus, strreptococcus pneumoniae

RISK FACTOR: Children and young adults

SIGN & SYMPTOMS: sore throat(pain ot the throat),dysphagia,yellow or whitish patch in the tonsil, tonsil swollen,fever,headache,enlarge of lymph nodes(neck)drooling(for childs).

TREATMENTS: medical:antibiotics(penicilin)...antipyretics(paracetamol) 

surgical: tonsillectomy(removal of tonsils).*just peform if tonsillitis is untreated by antibiotics and severe tonsillitis.

PREVENTION: keep body hygiene and take clean diets.

COMPLICATIONS: Rheumatic fever,tonsillar abcess(pus or abcesss form in tonsils tissue) tonsillar cellulitis(occurs when inflammation spread in to the cell)

MANAGEMENT: adequate rest in house,kept body hygiene,always peform hand washing before meals,take medicine as prescribed by doctor and complete immunization programe.
