Fits ->safe position->check blood sugar --->Low [IV dextrose]
                                                             --->Normal [give IV diazepam 0.25mg/kg]-rectal 0.5mg/kg if IV                                    
                                                                    not possible
                                                             --->(fit stop or  still fitting 3-5min later)

          -0.50mg/kg
 

 --->     Consult pediatrician on call
 
Repeat IV Diazepam  --> fit stop

Phenytoin available--->
IV Phenytoin 15-20mg/kg over 1 hour àtransport

                             --->




Caution!!! MAXIMUM DIAZEPAM DOSE IS 0.75mg/kg
1.       Do not transfer unless child is stable or unable to control fits
2.       Be prepared to provide respiratory support ( bag, mask, ETT )
3.       Child begin to develop cerebral edema after 30 minutes of convulsion
4.       Maintain IV access during transport. ( have diazepam available )
